Hello everyone,
The reason I wanted to start this discussion on the types of wedding videos is the fact that many couples have asked if there indeed is a difference between cinematic and traditional wedding videography.
Cinematic wedding videography is more about recording the wedding ceremony. It has elements such as telling a story, using emotional music, employing artistic camera angles, slow-motion recording, and color grading. The best thing about a cinematic wedding video is the feeling that you are watching a movie about your wedding day.
One of its greatest strengths lies in its use of emotion. With a movie-style video, you'll be able to capture things that a traditional photo can't—your vows, your laughs, your tears of joy, and the reactions of your family and friends. All of these elements come together beautifully with the addition of sound and music.
What I’ve noticed is that couples who opt to make wedding films end up reliving the wedding day with every view of the film. Destination weddings or high-end weddings are the best to cover with the location that occurs in the wedding itself. Of course, finding the right videographer to shoot your big day is an important part of the process. You want someone who has good storytelling skills, high-quality equipment, and examples of their work from actual weddings—not just the best bits. A good videographer has the ability to be discrete while recording priceless moments.
